The Kluane 5 Panel

The Kluane starts with a fleece lining to keep you warm on those cold, early morning starts or as you transition at the top of a line. We picked a mid-weight fleece to balance warmth without overheating on the skin track.

The Kluane’s earflaps lock in the warmth, keeping you toasty on the coldest midwinter days when the snow is so light and fluffy that sitting by the fire just isn’t enough. If things heat up, simply flip the flaps up for the same breathable airflow as our other models.

A breathable softshell outer material keeps you at the right temperature as you move through the mountains. The 2-way stretch makes this the most comfortable thing you wear no matter how long the adventure is.

High-performance DWR finish sheds snow on the deepest days, keeping your head dry (and warm) for that one last lap.

We picked a low profile 5 panel shape so you can comfortably wear underneath a helmet without any pressure points or excess material bunching. Plus it looks great for sharing stories from your adventure at the bar that night.

The brim is made of a flexible EVA foam making it easy to pack away or stash in a jacket pocket. The flexible brim also contours to your unique headshape reducing any pressure points that a traditional stiff brim creates.

The Kluane has a closed back but is adjustable using our shock cord and button. Pull the shock cord to snug the hat down and lock it onto your head in windy weather, release with the press of a button for a looser fit. The button comes with a low profile design to fit under a helmet without creating a pressure point.

Using a black fabric on the underside of the brim reduces glare from snow on a bright alpine day or the long days of summer.

Not only do we design and test our hats in the BC mountains, but they are made here too. We work with an excellent factory in the lower mainland of BC to reduce our carbon footprint from transport and quickly iterate on new designs.
